Cable Infrastructure:

  • Fiber Backbone : Multimode Fiber (MMF), 12 Strands, 62.5 micron run from MDF to IDF
  • Category 5e Unshielded Twisted Pair (CAT5 UTP)

   Network Infrastructure:

  • At the MDF, gigabit Ethernet back bone over MMF use Catalyst 6509s with Hot Standby Protocol (HSRP) implementation.
  • At the IDF, Catalyst 2948Gs switches with dual  Gigabit uplink to Catalyst 6509s for redundant.
  • At the Classrooms, Catalyst 1924-EN at the classroom connects to the Catalyst 2948G via 100BaseT uplink.
  • Teachers workstation connects directly to Catalyst 2924G via 100BaseTx .
  • Student workstation connects directly to Catalyst 1924-EN Switch providing 10Mb to student workstations.
  • Cisco 2620 router provides connection to the Internet and School District via T1 over Frame Relay as primary and ISDN as back up.
  • Servers such as DHCP, File Servers, Print Servers, etc. are centralized at the MDF.
