The weakness and strengths of the design go as follows.

• Simple design lending its self to easy maintenance.
• High quality equipment that will provide uninterrupted service.
• Plenty of documentation for future maintenance.
• Meets or exceeds all the requirements.
• IDFs are kept to a minimum limiting latency.
• Gigabit Fiber ensures reliable data free of RF, EMF, Etc.

 Negative points are:

• The equipment chosen is new and very expensive.
• The overall design is a very high bandwidth LAN that would not be readily accepted by many schools.
• Much less expensive equipment can be installed that will meet the requirements short term.
• IDF hardware is expensive and can be made by the Schools carpenters for much less.
• Gigabit fiber can be replaced by much less expensive Fast Ethernet.
• More IDFs would allow for Cheap Fast Ethernet.
• Old equipment is tried and tested.
• Exceeds the requirements
